NEUROSCIENTIST, HEALTH COACH &
FOUNDER, SJP HEALTH & WELLNESS
I've spent my career (and rebuilt my own health) proving one thing: your body isn't a discipline problem. It's a system waiting to be understood.
My work is helping you move from confusion to clarity, and from following someone else's plan to being the BOSS of your own health.

As a kid, I drove my mom crazy with "why" questions - and look - I was bone hunting in the cow field behind our house and we found some!
In high school biology, chemistry, physics, and psychology, I remember thinking: these are all connected. Why does everyone teach them like they're separate? The human body isn't divided into departments. It's one integrated system.
That curiosity carried me through a degree in psychobiology and biochemistry, and eventually a master's in neuroscience. I've always loved systems, especially complicated ones, and there's no system more complex or more adaptive than the human body.
Then my own system started breaking down, and everything changed.
I did what most high-achieving women do. I followed the conventional advice. Eat less. Move more. Push harder. Be more disciplined.
The harder I pushed, the worse I felt: overweight, exhausted, stressed, not sleeping, and a mom of three littles who traveled for work constantly. I didn't see a way out. I lost hope.
So I went back to my roots and leaned on the thing I actually trust: science.

I started applying systems thinking to my own health. Instead of fighting my body, I studied it. Instead of slashing calories, I asked better questions. Instead of trying to white-knuckle through my stress, I learned how my own physiology actually worked.
That health is still here, years later. No yo-yo, no fad, no quick fix I had to keep re-doing.
That's what led me to leave my prior career and found SJP Health & Wellness. I picked up the certifications along the way (like the Culinary Nutrition Expert & Instructor!) so I could help others who were stuck in that same loop: exhausted, overwhelmed, out of hope.

Diets ignore that your body is adaptive. It's constantly responding to what you do to it, and around it. Once you know how to read it, that's a superpower.

That's the whole premise behind CustomFit Wellness™: a data-driven, one-variable-at-a-time approach. We use tools like continuous glucose monitors, labs, structured workshops, and small personal experiments to help you see, in real time, how your unique body responds. Marathoners, people managing diabetes, the simply health-curious: everyone finds something they couldn't get from a generic app or an AI-generated plan.
We collaborate, human to human, every step. It's individualized and community-based, same as real life actually works.
Think of your body like a skyscraper. You wouldn't gut-renovate a building while the fire's still going. Stop the damage first, then bring in high-quality materials, then handle the daily maintenance (sleep, stress, connection) that keeps the whole structure standing. That's the BOSS Mode Framework underneath everything I do: it's how you go from managing symptoms to actually running the building.
I focus on right-sized, sustainable shifts, one variable at a time, like any good scientist would. Real change comes from curiosity, testing, and learning what your own system actually needs.
What is NOT in my programs: willpower as a strategy, and one-size-fits-all plans. Your body is adapting, all the time, to whatever signals it's getting. Change the signals you can, and your body can change the outcome.
My approach: curiosity over certainty, data over guessing, and self-leadership. You don't need to become a neuroscientist. You just need to get curious about your own body - and embrace that reclaiming your health gets to be fun!
Test, don't guess.
I had a conversation once that I didn't see coming.
A client told me her doctor advised her to skip a routine test, a common, informative one I've had done at every annual physical, because "you probably won't like what it tells you, and it'll take you down a road you don't want to go."
I could not get past that. As a scientist, as a coach, as someone who believes deeply in your ability to handle information about your own body, that logic felt like nails on a chalkboard.
When my mom got sick, she didn't ignore it. She found out she had cancer. By having that data in hand, we were able to turn her prognosis from less than a month to 2 years! The DATA didn't cause the outcome - it brought us precious time.
Skipping data because you might not like the answer doesn't protect you. It just leaves you standing in a fog with no coordinates, no idea where you actually are.
Data is just that - a starting point, a coordinate on a map. The more coordinates you have, the more you understand the map, and the more power you have to change your position on it.
